Riftwalker
Uncharted border titan
The Riftwalker is a titan-scale predator known only from sightings at the edges of the Uncharted, most of them along the northern border of Kela. It is the largest land predator on record, more than twice the height of the Terraveth Behemoth, and every account of it ends the same way, with the animal turning back toward the Uncharted.
Accounts agree on a long-bodied quadruped that rises onto its hind limbs to look out over terrain, with a narrow head carried low and plated hide the color of dark stone. Its size is estimated from what it leaves behind: tracks deep enough to hold meltwater through a season, and ridgelines broken where it crossed them.
It has been seen taking Greater Smilohounds and Boretheris Titans on the northern plateaus, killing with a single strike and carrying the carcass off whole.
When pursued it never stands its ground. It withdraws toward the Uncharted faster than any rover has followed, and pursuit ends where navigation systems and electronics fail near the border. No carcass, bone, or tissue sample has ever been recovered. Colonies on Kela's northern frontier keep watch posts for it, and contracts pushing toward the Uncharted are priced with it in mind.
