The Ashpalm is a hardy desert plant native to Inland Thazvaar, where it grows in extreme heat and nutrient-poor sand. Its fire-resistant fronds and ember-like seed pods let it survive high temperatures and sandstorms. It stores daytime heat and releases it at night, and the warmth around it shelters small desert fauna. The seeds are edible and make an emergency ration. Smoked or crushed, the plant has a mild calming effect. Overharvesting during past eras of expansion has left it less common in populated regions.
