Ledgelichen

Ukhaalstaag cliff lichen

Origin
Ukhaalstaag and the high cliffs of Ngorrhal
Record
Geban field flora

Ledgelichen is a grey-green crust lichen that grows in the cracks and on the ledges of Ukhaalstaag's cliff faces and the highest cliffs of Ngorrhal. It survives temperatures as low as sixty degrees below zero, freezes solid for most of the year, and grows only a few millimeters in a good season. It is the main food of the Ledgehorn, and almost everything else that lives on Ukhaalstaag's cliffs depends on it in some way. A cliff face stripped bare of Ledgelichen has usually been grazed by Ledgehorns recently.
