Nightspout
Inland Thazvaar desert succulent
The Nightspout is a stubborn, desert-born succulent originating from Inland Thazvaar. Plain in appearance, it is infamous for its near-immortality: it can survive for months without a root system, drawing minimal sustenance from air and dust. This resilience has made it invasive on multiple continents, where it flourishes in nearly every biome from frozen coasts to arid basins.
Ingested or inhaled in processed form, Nightspout induces prolonged, high-intensity hallucinations described as “centuries within moments.” Users often report coherent visions of historical events they had no prior knowledge of, events later verified through recorded archives. Its psychotropic compounds appear to warp temporal and cognitive perception, leaving users disoriented for days after recovery.
Chronic exposure or overuse causes permanent cognitive degradation: memory erosion, dissociative episodes, and loss of linear thought. Its unkillable nature and disturbing psychic influence make it one of the most controversial and dangerous plants on Geba.
