Emberbriar is a bio-engineered resurrection of a once-extinct Thazvaari plant originally harvested along the coastal plains of Thazvaar. Its ember-colored blooms produced a potent dust that, inhaled or swallowed, brought on a violent surge of focus, aggression, and pain resistance. During the Era of Imperial Conquest, soldiers and mercenaries across Geba used it to get through prolonged battles, and widespread addiction and psychosis followed. The Geban Empire eventually ordered every known Emberbriar field burned, and the species was extinct for millennia.

In the modern era, the Jeyrhan Bio-Engineering Consortium reconstructed the plant’s genome from preserved seed fragments recovered in Thazvaari ruins. The revived strain is less volatile and still carries the psychoactive compounds that made it infamous. Imperial law officially restricts it to research, but its seeds have spread across Geba through black markets, and Emberbriar is once again found worldwide. Modern users prize it for a rapid stimulant burst followed by a brief numbing calm. Its strong scent and sharp crash make it unsuitable for long-term use.

Today Emberbriar turns up everywhere from pirate holds to the private stores of the planet's wealthiest. Overuse is blamed for paranoia and for hearing things. It has no effect on the Engineered, hybrids included.
