Ngorrhal Windbrace
Ngorrhal antidote shrub
The Ngorrhal Windbrace is a hardy, low-growing shrub native to Ngorrhal’s ridges and mountain passes, prized across Geba as a universal antidote. It adapts to thin, mineral-rich soils and survives fierce mountain winds, one of the few curative plants that thrive in such extreme conditions. Unlike most of Ngorrhal’s flora, it has no stimulant or calming properties.
Its natural compound neutralizes nearly all organic poisons, venoms, and toxins, and in concentrated doses it can counter several types of manufactured chemical agents. When consumed, the extract induces severe but short-lived convulsions and vomiting as it purges toxins from the system, along with extreme body heat and heavy sweating that speed the expulsion of toxins through the skin. The reaction is violent but rarely life-threatening, and recovery follows quickly once the toxin is expelled. In low or diluted doses, the plant works as a mild diuretic and cleansing tonic.
Despite its unpleasant side effects, the Windbrace remains a mainstay of herbal medicine, and soldiers, explorers, and healers throughout modern Geba keep it as a critical antidote in both military and expedition use.
