Lamplichen
Subterranean glowing lichen
Origin
Geba (deep caverns and tunnel networks)
Record
Geban field flora
The Lamplichen is a bioluminescent lichen found only in Geba’s deep subterranean caverns and tunnel networks. Slow metabolic reactions give its surface a steady light that illuminates cave systems no outside light reaches. It often grows along stone walls and stalactites, where it stabilizes mineral surfaces and sustains small cave fauna drawn to the glow. In controlled environments it can be used as a renewable light source for long-term expeditions and deep-mining operations.
