Thazvaar Heatthorn

Inland Thazvaar desert succulent

Origin
Inland Thazvaar
Record
Geban field flora

The Thazvaar Heatthorn is a hardy desert succulent found throughout Inland Thazvaar. Its dense, thorn-covered surface absorbs and stores radiant heat, and its spines hold blistering temperatures. Darker subspecies can reach internal temperatures above 340°C, which makes them dangerous to touch but occasionally useful in emergencies.

Travelers and stranded contractors have used Heatthorn clusters to cook food or boil water when they had no fire. In rare cases the heat has been harnessed to charge portable devices through improvised geothermal converters. It remains a last-resort resource.
