From Iaisa to Brena

Brena Jerhit was born Iaisa Jerhit. She discovered the legacy of Brennen Jerhit, the infamous warlord from the Warlord Eras whose raids and underworld alliances laid the foundation for the modern Jerhit Syndicate. Disillusioned by imperial attempts to rewrite the past, she cast off her given name, took the name Brena, and claimed the syndicate's violent inheritance as her own. She is natural-born, with dark skin, green eyes, and silver hair, a combination unprecedented in the Thazvaari population, and she is recognized immediately anywhere she appears.

Syndicate Operations

As matriarch of the Jerhit Syndicate, Brena commands the inland circuits of Thazvaar through theft, propaganda, and advanced technology design. Her branch, Brena Propulsion Designs, supplies jetpacks, micro-cannons, and illicit relay technology to pirates, elites, and private warlords. Much of it is stolen from captured Berinese engineers, and kidnappings, ransom extractions, and forced prototype development are commonplace under her rule. The syndicate also exploits the Solarn registry gap, moving unregistered inland people through grey zone cargo channels and giving them identities built backward from nothing.

She maintains an inland compound and a tower in Kharan's Gulf near the estate of Yelidra Veykar. Her twin, Iera Jerhit, is Unbound. Her younger brother, Ioe Jerhit, rejected the syndicate entirely and founded mercenary groups in Kela.

Music and Culture

Brena funds anti-Shadow Rule music acts and turns culture into a weapon through syndicate-backed festivals. Genres like Rebelcore and Conwave glorify syndicate ideals, wealth, and pirate ascendancy. She taxes independent acts and uses performance and sound to steer the inland's narrative, to the point that she sets the rhythms and calendars of its cities. She plays both sides of every card. Publicly she is elusive, yet her influence runs across private and public relays alike. Outside the syndicate she is reviled, and imperial strategists know her as a destabilizing force, but the governed world refuses to confront the inland, so she operates in a space the empire has chosen not to enter.
