Vaer’Terund Venar
Emperor
Vaer’Terund Venar, youngest son of Empress Vaer'Tersa Elyrsana, was chosen as emperor in the middle of the Era of Imperial Conquest. He is known for formally declaring war on Thazvaar after diplomatic negotiations failed catastrophically. He was the great-grandfather of Venar’Tolarg, and his aggressive policies escalated the defining conflict of the era into total war, forced assimilation, and eventually the invasion of Thazvaar's mainland at immense cost.
His reign turned the empire toward the extermination of opposing civilizations. It set the stage for his descendants' conquests and contributed to the empire's expansion, while his systematic executions worsened the emerging male deficit. The scope and brutality of his policies reshaped imperial doctrine and committed the throne to a course of dominance that held for generations.
