Ash Kota
Assault-Class Warlord
Ash Kota is an Assault-Class Engineered warlord operating in Inland Thazvaar. His imperial birth name and his identity in state archives are hidden from the public. He deserted before the official end of the Warlord Eras, which under imperial doctrine marks him as unfinished state property, and when he reappeared inland, others who were still under term abandoned their posts to follow him.
Operations
He liberates trafficked laborers, destroys supply caches, and disables syndicate controlled relay infrastructure, directly cutting the income, mobility, and leverage of every major inland group. His followers include natural-borns, hybrids, and smaller Tactician-Class Engineered who can pass as natural-born where an Assault-Class frame would be identified immediately. These operatives embed themselves at every level of trafficking networks, from slaves to traffickers, to learn the hierarchy from inside: who runs the operation, who supplies it, where the varens go, and how the chain connects to larger networks. The work is slow and dangerous, and it fails more often than it succeeds. What happens to a discovered operative depends on what they are. Natural-borns, whose physiology makes escape almost impossible once cornered, are spared death, which would be the lesser consequence. They are kept alive and turned into pleasure slaves for sadistic clients, held as an example to anyone else considering infiltration. Captured Engineered operatives are killed immediately, since they cannot be contained beyond temporary restraint. When the method succeeds, entire operations are dismantled from the top down, their leadership eliminated along with the infrastructure that sustained them. Traffickers like Kayen'Shetan Insan, whose networks move captives across continents, are among those Ash and his followers actively hunt.
Bounties
The Empire lists a bounty of 5,000 Auren for his live return. It formally demands his recovery but makes no visible effort to enforce the order, and it is alleged to have known the location of his base for decades without intervening. The bounty is small enough to confirm what most people already suspect: the Empire does not actually want him back. The syndicates list a separate bounty of 750,000 Auren for his body. He costs them more than almost any other single individual on the planet, and the figure reflects it. The syndicates want him dead and the Empire does not care enough to collect him, so no one with the capability to reach him has sufficient motivation from both sides to try.
Public Perception
The general Geban public widely admires him. Civilians in the capital and the relay covered world know little about how he operates or what his daily life looks like, but the broad story carries: an Assault-Class deserter who walked away from imperial service, disappeared into the most lawless region on the planet, and has spent years dismantling trafficking operations and freeing people from forced labor, an Engineered soldier who chose to fight for people the Empire forgot. The Empire's formal classification of him as a criminal does nothing to diminish that.
