Varen'Hela Aravel
Independent Contractor
Varen'Hela Aravel is an independent contractor of Shadow Operative lineage. She is the granddaughter of Varen'Samyl Venar and sister of Varen'Nola.
She left the family residence because she resembles her father closely in body and temperament, differing only in stature, musculature, and hair length, and the two disagreed constantly. She chose independent contracting over staying in a house of ongoing conflict.
Hela was recognized as an operational prodigy. She worked independent contracts for nearly a decade before she had the expertise to join her grandfather on high-stakes assignments for Solarn Legacy Engineering and Veykar Propulsion.
She shows no emotional response to using lethal force, and showed none even in her first engagements.
Her capacity for empathy and sympathy is limited, so she relies on intellectual reasoning with people and on operations alike. This makes her efficient at analysis and execution and leaves her slow to read emotional subtleties in others. Her sense of humor comes from social cues she has observed rather than from instinct.
