Kayen'Shetan Insan

Modern Geba

Origin: Southern Geba (Geban-Thazvaari descent)

Era: Modern Geba

Known Role: Intercontinental slave and fauna fence

Region of Operation: Berinu-Thazvaar frontier

Kayen'Shetan Insan was born in the southern regions of the Geban continent, an area connected to the wider world primarily through relay broadcasts rather than the constant physical presence of global commerce found in the imperial capital. His upbringing followed the academic culture common to the southern provinces, and his mixed Geban-Thazvaari heritage produced the distinctive structure of his name.

Background

After traveling to the capital for study, Kayen'Shetan became familiar with the immense logistical systems that moved cargo, personnel, and industrial materials across continents. He worked in relay contracting, gaining practical exposure to documentation systems, transport routes, and the operational scale of the modern world's infrastructure. This knowledge would later define the scope of what he built.

His activities eventually brought him to the Berinu-Thazvaar borderlands, a region defined by dense jungles, mountain passes, and terrain that made large scale surveillance extremely difficult. Over generations the area had become dominated by powerful criminal networks and syndicates, and human trafficking was already common there, normalized within the frontier economy to the point where captives moved through these corridors as routinely as materials and contraband. Those who entered the system originated from many regions of the planet, including Berinu, Thazvaar, areas as far south as Yuvaar, and occasionally territories as far west as Jeyrha. Once pushed through the frontier routes they were typically sold within nearby territories and the trade rarely extended beyond the region.

Scale

Kayen'Shetan did not participate in the capture of victims and was not responsible for the existence of the trade itself. What distinguished him was the scale at which he operated. Using the logistical knowledge he had gained through relay contracting and transport documentation systems, he began moving captives far beyond the frontier markets where they were normally sold, arranging the transport of enslaved individuals across multiple continents through a network of intermediaries, smugglers, and routes that overlapped with existing commercial and wildlife smuggling corridors. This included destinations as distant as the imperial capital and the southern continent of Jeyrha, something that had never previously been achieved at organized scale.

Officially, the imperial system maintains that slavery does not exist within modern society. In practice, extremely isolated projects, criminal ventures, and private buyers operating far from major population centers create demand that is rarely acknowledged publicly. The planet's severe gender imbalance also contributes to the value of captives, as male victims command exceptionally high prices in illegal markets, making long distance trafficking operations highly profitable despite the risks involved.

Method

Kayen'Shetan rarely appears directly in the violence associated with the trade. His role is that of a broker and facilitator, linking frontier supply networks to buyers across distant regions. He operates within the same grey zone channels that move weapons, materials, and contraband across the planet, and his network overlaps with organizations like the Teytan, which produces trafficked individuals at volume and requires exactly the kind of intercontinental distribution infrastructure that Kayen'Shetan provides. Human trafficking existed long before him. What made Kayen'Shetan Insan infamous was that he proved it could reach every continent.

He is actively hunted by Ash Kota and his followers, who embed natural-borns, hybrids, and Tactician-Class operatives who can pass as natural-born at every level of trafficking networks to map the hierarchy from the inside. The method usually fails, and those who are discovered face consequences calibrated to discourage anyone from trying again: captured natural-borns are kept alive and sold as pleasure slaves to sadistic clients rather than killed, while any Engineered operatives are executed immediately because they cannot be contained. When the method succeeds, entire operations are taken down along with their leadership. Kayen'Shetan's value as a target is not in the volume he moves personally but in the fact that he connects frontier supply to intercontinental demand. Removing him would sever a distribution architecture that took years to build and that no one else has replicated at the same scale.
