Origin: Kela (polar shelves)
The Edgerammer is a massive coastal aquatic creature of Kela's polar shelves, 12–14 meters long and 10–15 tonnes, its streamlined body and battering-ram head built for explosive collisions that shatter ice and hulls alike. Named for mistaking ships for rival Edgerammers, it charges coastal routes and shelves with unerring force, creating navigational hazards and reshaping the frozen frontier in bursts of primal territorial rage. Non-aggressive toward humans but destructive by nature, it lives 80–120 years, maturing at 20 and reproduces rapidly. Actively hunted for its rich meat and oil—used in machines across Geba—it sustains polar economies, with hides for used durable gear and fashion. The Geban Empire manages herds in submerged barriers spanning hundreds of kilometers, its presence signaling stable cold marine ecosystems while demanding respect in survival and infrastructure. The Kelan Maritime Guild bred a variant without a ramming head, transforming it into a dedicated food source for polar operations.
