The Duststalker is a lean desert predator of Inland Thazvaar's Infinitude Deserts, spanning 8 to 12 meters and weighing 800 kilograms to 1.2 tonnes, camouflaged as large rocks in desert-mountain transitions where it ambushes wanderers and herds with explosive speed, fangs and claws claiming prey in a blur of concealed fury. Enduring 20 to 80 years, it matures by age 10, then hones solitary hunts to peak lethality. There is no safe way to bypass them. Simply walk past and hope they do not notice you. Their underbelly fur is popular among Thazvaari due to it being thin enough to wear in the day, but thick enough to keep warm in the night. To the Thazvaari, it embodied guile and survival, a cunning survivor revered in inherited lore despite the Fracture's scars.
