The Imperator
Kanesh'Tar Zeren was a former member of the Shield of Geba who had been trained to intercept danger rather than interpret it, and who transitioned from elite guardianship to political oversight of Thazvaar with the support of Emperor Ashan'Eze Narath. He served as a close associate to the emperor and spoke plainly about what the empire's coastal presence in Thazvaar actually controlled versus what the empire claimed to control.
The Warning
In a formal audience with Prince Ashan'Raeth Vareth, Kanesh'Tar warned of inland realities that contradicted the stability visible on the coasts: aged relay grids falling apart, dark zones beyond signal reach, resurgent criminal forces rebuilding in territory the empire had nominally claimed, and entire regions rejecting imperial jurisdiction without the capital knowing or caring. He had issued orders to halt flights inland after airships began vanishing, and he made clear to the prince that functionality existed only on the visible coasts. The empire had inherited Thazvaar's unresolved wars without fully conquering peace, and Kanesh'Tar's tenure represented the bureaucratic reality of managing a continent that was imperial in name and ungoverned in practice.
