Saethera Skypillar

The Saethera Skypillar is an immense, fungal-linked tree species native to Saethera’s warmlight forests. Unlike typical arboreal life, its growth never halts. It expands indefinitely upward and outward, continuously merging with networks of fungus that circulate nutrients through its colossal trunk. The oldest known Skypillars, first recorded over three thousand years ago, still stand and continue to grow, their crowns lost above the canopy and their roots deep beyond reach.

Mosses, lichens, and parasitic vines thrive upon its surface, creating entire vertical ecosystems that stretch for kilometers. The Skypillar serves as both structure and sustenance, acting as living soil to countless smaller species. It is widely considered immortal, with no natural mechanism of decay ever observed.

Its fungal core and limitless growth make it one of Geba’s most extraordinary living phenomena. Less a tree, and more a perpetual biosystem towering across epochs.
