The Boughstrider is a colossal canopy predator of Saethera, a territorial behemoth with frond-textured limbs and light-reactive dermis that enable seamless blending into bioluminescent forests, including thermal regulation making it undetectable to all but Scout-Class Engineered. Hyper-aggressive and solitary, it shifts slowly but relentlessly through vine-laced canopies, using its immense size (up to 15 meters long, 5 tonnes) to ambush and eviscerate intruders or rivals. Only Scout-Class with Assault-Class companions inhabit these zones, enduring its threats while navigating the perpetual twilight. The Boughstrider's presence enforces Saethera’s isolation, its 60–100 year lifespan and infrequent reproduction ensuring a persistent, unseen menace in the luminous south.
